Our Trip to the Sanford Farmers Market

Mom’s Lifesavers loved our visit to the Farmers Market in Sanford, Maine.

So if you find yourself in Southern Maine  near the Wells area, Sanford is only a few minutes North.

Located in the center of town right off of Main Street, the Sanford Farmers Market is open Saturdays in the summer from 9 until noon.

What You Will Find

We found it all! From homemade pretzels to Maine Blueberry Popcorn (my personal favorite) we found so many wonderful treats from local kitchens, orchards, farms and gardens.

Looking for a plant or two for the garden? A handmade piece of jewelry? You will find it at the Farmers Market.

Rock Lobster Popcorn – with flavors like Maine Wild Blueberry to Fried Dough and lots of samples, you’re sure to find a flavor just right for you

Rivard Farm – offers pick your own blueberries and so much more – even farm animals to visit

Kelly Orchards – Acton Maine – Our daughter couldn’t get enough of their fresh peaches.

Ferment Farm – Amazing mushrooms!You need to see these in person – they are incredible (see picture, bottom right)

The Best Part

The best part of the Farmers Market in Sanford, Maine – spending time together as a family.

I was weary that the kids wouldn’t be into it but after picking up peaches, blueberries, fresh veggies, pretzels and popcorn – they had snacked their way through the Farmers Market and were even getting along! They even made sure that our dog got some all natural homemade dog treats.

With harvest season in full swing try and check out your local Farmers Market. You will be surprised what you will find – local artists, musicians and more.
