Turkey Leg Treats for Thanksgiving

These turkey legs are the perfect sweet and salty treat that will have all your guests talking. We are making them again this year to serve at the kids table. They are a huge hit with all the kids!

Here is what you’ll need:

  • mini marshmallows
  • pretzel rods
  • white chocolate / candy metls
  • butter
  • crisp rice cereal
  • parchment paper
  • mixing spoon
  • microwave safe bowl and measuring cup
  • non stick cooking spray

Making the Turkey Leg Treats

Gather up some supplies and let’s talk turkey. Click here to see video on YouTube.

  1. Place some parchment paper on your work surface
  2. Melt a few candy wafers in a microwave safe measuring cup
  3. Use a spoon to scoop out some melted chocolate and dip a mini marshmallow in the chocolate and ‘attach’ to a pretzel rod. Repeat with a second mini marshmallow to create the ‘end’ of the turkey leg
  4. Place pretzel rods in the refrigerator to firm up/set the chocolate
  5. Once the chocolate is set, melt additional chocolate in the microwave, stirring frequently
  6. Spoon the chocolate over the lower half of the pretzel rod, being certain to cover the marshmallow ends. Use the back of the spoon to spread/cover the chocolate over the surface.
  7. Let the pretzels cool once again.

  8. Using the microwave bowl, melt 4 Tablespoons of butter with approximately 1/2 a bag of mini marshmallows.
  9. Once the mixture melts, add crisp rice cereal to the cereal so it is covering but not too dry. (you still want the cereal mixture to hold a shape)
  10. Spoon cereal mixture onto plain pretzel
  11. Using cooking spray, spray a piece of parchment paper and use the paper to mold/shape the turkey leg (See video above)

We hope you have fun making these turkey legs – they were a hit with the whole family. Enjoy!
