Travel – Flattened Penny Souvenirs

August 9, 2013 By: Bonniecomment

Our Family Loves Flattened PenniesPerfect Souvenirs for Travel!

Postcards, t-shirts, cups, magnets, hats – you name it!

When you travel, every where you turn there are souvenirs for sale – and every family has their favorites – ours are pennies!

Yes, flattened – stretched – squished, souvenir pennies. Why? Why not?

For $.51 we have a keepsake that takes up little space and that the kids had a hand in making.

Here is our daughter in New York making a flattened penny at the M&M store – trust me, this was a VERY COST EFFECTIVE souvenir in NYC!

We have several penny wallets that we started as a family – from trips to Disney and the Kennedy Space Center – we also have a general wallet for all the random locations that we find that have a machine. The kids love to look back and remember where and when we got them.

TIP – When my mom asked what she could give the kids for their trip to Disney I said, “A roll of new pennies and a roll of quarters.” It was perfect! Each of our kids had their own penny making stash!
We have some great memories stored in those pennies – from our trip through the Lemon Squeeze at the Lost River Gorge to our children’s first Red Sox game!
