Have you seen those one dish fun video how to’s on Facebook? We have seen hundreds of them and decided that it was time to whip up a few in our very own test kitchen.

Today we put the #MeatballSubBake to the test and let us tell you that we LOVED it and so did our entire family – so much so that we made it twice this week.

This recipe is a real Mom’s Lifesaver coming together in under a minute – seriously, under a minute. Our teens and tweens gave it 2 thumbs up and are now requesting it.

So when you find a recipe that the whole family enjoys, it can be made using ‘on-hand’ ingredients and uses only one dish – well that, it a Mom’s Lifesaver. Gather your ingredients and get cooking, better yet, have the kids make it.

Ingredients

  • Can of refrigerated biscuits – we used a large can of flaky ones
  • Jar of your favorite tomato sauce
  • Frozen meatballs – we used a premade, frozen Italian variety
  • 2 Cups shredded mozzarella cheese – we also added a little cheddar jack to ours
  • Cooking spray

Steps

  1. Follow our picture tutorial above along with the steps below.
  2. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and coat a 9×12 baking dish with non-stick cooking  spray.
  3. Open the refrigerated biscuits and cut each biscuit into smaller pieces. We cut ours into eighths.
  4. Place biscuit pieces in baking dish.
  5. Cover biscuit pieces with sauce and using a spoon mix sauce over and around biscuit pieces until coated.
  6. Place meatballs on top of sauce and biscuit mixture.
  7. Cover meatball layer with shredded cheese.
  8. Place the #MeatballSubBake in the oven for approximately 35 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
