Dollar Store Craft – Easy Platter Craft with Mom’s Lifesavers

This inexpensive dollar store summer craft is fun and festive: Easy Platter Craft with Mom’s Lifesavers.

We love bringing food to our friends houses for pot luck summer cookouts, parties and BBQs. The dilemma: using unattractive plates and platters that we don’t worry about getting back. They just don’t have the same pizzazz.

Hello Pizzazz!

For less than $3 you can make a fun, summer statement platter that will get ooohs and ahhhs from your friends! Here is what you need to make this easy platter craft.

  • Glass Candle Stick Holder – We found one of ours at the Dollar Tree, the short one, and the taller version at Savers.
  • Star Shaped Serving Dish – We picked these up at Dollar Tree as well – we thought they would make a colorful and fun table setting perfect for Memorial Day, July 4th and Summer Celebrations
  • Adhesive – We used a tube of Fix All Adhesive that is water resistant – we also got this at the Dollar Tree

Easy Platter Craft Tutorial

  1. Gather your supplies. Wash and thoroughly dry the pieces.
  2. Place a large amount of adhesive on the center of the plate. The center of these star shaped places was easy to find – there was a mark with the product info in the center.
  3. Next add an ample amount of adhesive to the candlestick top – around the edge, the part that will come in contact with the plate. TIP – Putting the adhesive on both pieces will create a stronger bond AND the adhesive will dry clear.
  4. Place the candlestick holder to the platter, matching up the adhesive.
  5. Allow the craft to dry over night and enjoy your Easy Platter Craft!
