You are not even going to believe just HOW EASY this Easy No Sew Table Runner is – the secret to no sewing? Washi tape!

We stumbled upon this great cover of Better Homes and Gardens and changed up their table runner recipe in our ‘test kitchen’. We choose a nautical theme (surprise surprise) and were able to put this easy no sew table runner together in only minutes.

Gather Your Supplies

  • Mom’s Lifesavers video tutorial
  • Paper Cocktail Napkins – 2 or more packages in coordinating colors or themes
  • Paper Dinner Napkins – 1 or more packages in coordinating colors or themes
  • Washi Tape – 2 or more rolls, different patterns, colors or designs
  • Scissors (optional – we just tore the washi tape)
  • Your creativity

Getting Started

Getting started is easy.

  1. Clear off your table or work space and open up your paper napkins.
  2. Start by laying them down and seeing how they fit together. You might want to open some or keep them closed. Another great look is layering them so that the napkins take on a variety of sizes, creating that quilted look and feel to the designs.
  3. Once you have your initial layout, start taping. Tape can run across, up, down or diagonal.
  4. Continue adding napkins and tape until you reach the desired length
  5. Enjoy!

Other Ideas

We think these would make great placemats too. Change up the napkins for a cookout, birthday party or special occasion, the possibilities are endless.
