A True New England Family Business

Village Candle is owned and operated by a family – a REAL family – when you stop in and visit the warehouse sale you will likely find Sally and her daughter Krystal working the register and wrapping your purchases – we did!

Village Candle was started in Sally and Paul Aldrich’s basement – the story goes that Paul’s entrepreneurial passions started Village Candle in the basement of their home over a two burner stove – and boy are we glad he did! Check out the full story here – its a ‘feel good’ one that reminds us that people should and can follow their passions!

Mom’s Lifesavers stumbled upon Village Candle at the Wells, Maine headquarters while on vacation – when this mom see’s a sign like this – that’s right, we’re stopping to check it out!

With my husband and kids in tow (that were not nearly as excited as I was) we went into their ‘wow’ of a facility  – “a 73,000 square foot space with a custom-built factory”.

While I shopped – getting not only incredible deals but LOTS of great gifts for family and friends, my husband, son and daughter sat on a bench – but not for long!

Sally Aldrich – yes, that’s right, the owner of Village Candle, saw them sitting there and came out and introduced herself. My husband, being a manufacturing engineer, was interested in the facility and soon they were talking ‘shop’. Next thing I know, we were on a private tour of the Village Candle factory and warehouse! AMAZING. (I would like to add that my husband and son will never look at a burning candle the same way!)

So they are a great family, with a made in the USA product, right here in New England AND they have a state of the art facility – but what about their candles? Top of the line. Yes, I can honestly say that we use and love these candles and enjoy giving them as gifts, as well as sharing the story of how we found them.

I am particularly fond of their soy candles – they burn perfectly AND the scents are ‘just right’ – not overpowering. My daughter LOVES their jar candles – specifically the smaller ones – her latest pick is Summer Slices (which is funny because we got the watermelon slicer that same day!)
The Warehouse Sales occur once a month at their headquarters
September dates are this week, 9/6, 9/7, 9/8 from 10-4!

They have a Facebook page just for their warehouse sales – check it out here and like it!
Not planning a trip to Maine anytime soon? No worries – You can find their amazing candle line online here and in stores nation wide.
