Mrs Nelson’s Candy House

Mrs Nelson’s Candy House is the perfect ‘pit stop’ off of Route 495 in Massachusetts. After being in the car for hours it was time to stretch our legs. The perfect place to stop, a house filled with candy!

Mrs Nelson’s Candy House is located at 292 Chelmsford Road, in Chelmsford, MA, just minutes off of Route 495.

Our Visit

The kids were cheering  when I told them I had found the perfect place to stop. Mrs Nelson’s Candy House is actually a house and the entrance is just like walking into someone’s home.

Walking in through the door the sweet smells took me way back. Not only did we get to see all of our favorite candies on display, I was also able to share with the girls stories of what I used to find in my Easter basket as a kid.

Some of the candy I saw I haven’t been able to find in decades, it was such a trip down memory lane.

Everything is decorated for Easter this time of year. Chocolate bunnies and chicks along with hand crafted chocolate eggs filled with yummy goodness like caramel, coconut, buttercream and more. There are even baskets made entirely out of chocolate and beautifully filled. Such great gifts for both giving and receiving.

Do you remember those sugar eggs with little scenes inside? I used to have one in my Easter basket every year. I couldn’t believe that Mrs Nelson’s Candy House had them and in a range of sizes – so cool. There were old fashioned favorites and even classic boxed chocolates and candy by the pound.

Is Mrs Nelson Home?

Before leaving with our chocolate and candy treasures, our youngest traveler asked if Mrs Nelson was home. We learned that Mrs Nelson was no longer with us, but we were able to see a picture hanging on the wall of her working as a chocolatier many years ago. The helpful associate was even willing to share the history of the Candy House with us. Mrs Nelson’s Candy House is rich in history and tradition and a perfectly sweet stop that will take you down memory lane.

You can find Mrs Nelson’s Candy House on Facebook where you can see more images and reviews. Enjoy!
