Elf on the Shelf Are You Ready?

Are YOU ready for Elf antics?

Yes, we have one of those magical little creatures that visits our house every December

That is, since 2008 when Nannie surprised the kids with him. Since then, Nannie has received several phone calls from me on the ‘stresses’ of having a house with an Elf. (if you know what I mean – then again, he is always watching.)

Our elf’s name is Gee. He shows up around December 1st, give or take a day or two depending on the weather – sometimes traveling back from the North pole can be tricky (and/or I need to find out where he was last)

Last year, Gee received a football jersey and his very own door to our house. This magical door stays up year round at our home (this way I don’t have to find where I put it away for the following year AND it makes for a great conversation when guests notice it!)

I’m on the search for a new outfit for him this year – mostly to keep it fresh for me!

We found a variety of clothes for the Elf – each store carried something a little different. We found the Capelet Set – a faux fur wrap with diamond and blue accents as well as a white puffer vest at Bed Bath and Beyond.

The Paper Store had the Aviator suit, Winter sparkle skirt and Satin Tiered Skirt. Target offers some “Only at Target” options like the Tartan Skirt with Boots and Christmas Sweater.

Our magical door came from an ingenious mind at Hot Pink Lime.

There are 2 designs to choose from – both equally magical and made of a unique fabric that is low tac and repositionable so it can be removed after the holidays are over. I believe it is truly magic – when our daughter helped me find a place for it and we put it up – it began to snow! Seriously, it did!

There’s more!

We found the DVD, An Elf on the Shelf presents An Elf’s Story, Naughty or Nice Board Game some great wood puzzles and a Listen and Find Elf on the Shelf game set!

There is more Elf on the Shelf magic out there today then when we got him – now there are elf pets too!

Good luck with your Elf this season!
