I can’t wait to take this kids this summer. I’m always looking for a rainy day idea that gets the kids moving when we can’t be outdoors.
I’ll be surprising them this summer with a trip to the Beanstalk Adventure Ropes Course in Reading, MA.
Have you been? I have been terrified of heights but gave a ropes course a chance last year and now I’m hooked. I can’t wait to go with the kids and get to explore myself. I love that you can go at your own pace – I will say I’m a little skeptical of at 69 foot long zip line but if my 9 year old can handle it so can I.

Beanstalk Adventure Ropes Course is a 32-foot tall, 2 level ropes course complete with 30 exciting elements including zig-zag beams, cargo nets, angled rope ladders, crisscross walks and more. Participants choose their own path through the elements and go at their own pace. The ropes course is also equipped with a Sky Rail zip line connection measuring 69′ long. Participants soar down the length of the ropes course on a self guided zipping experience and are able to enjoy it’s thrills over and over. For young adventurers, there’s Bean Sprout, a specially designed ropes course for kids ages 2-7.

July 7, 2017 at 12:01 pmSitting here at Jordans furniture after my boys cutting their time on the ropes short. Ryan and Joseph did this due to a safety issue that was not being assessed by the staff. When my boys came down to speak with staff they were ignored. I walked over to see why only after ten minutes they were calling it. Turns out a summer camp was on the course at the same time. We have no issues with crowds. However when the crowds refuse time and again to follow safety rules we have an issue. The worker whose name was unavailable to us first told me ,” oh well.” When I repeated the children’s concern the new response was,” If I see anything I’ll deal with it.” At this point right above his head three of the campers were on one rope at the same time jumping up and down. His response was just “Oh” but did nothing to correct the issue.
On the course itself was just one very bored looking male by the zip line. No other workers were on the course as in the past. For the twenty campers only one staff member was on the course. He was enjoying the zip line while the other staff members sat at a table talking amongst themselves.
Disappointed with the lack of safety protocols be followed and enforced. Disappointed with the lack of a willingness for staff of both beanstalk and the camp to do the job they are getting paid to do. I know Beanstalk has no control over another’s employees. But they do have control over their own in providing a safe environment.
