Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Review Mom’s Lifesavers
The Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 has become my Mom’s Lifesaver
I’ve been on the hunt for a tablet for awhile now. I need to be able to grab my blogging off my desk and work remote more and more these days. My away from home locations currently are client meetings in beautiful Newburyport & Rockport, Mass and at the equestrian barn and LAX practice. Writing inspiration typically happens in the car, so it’s been truly imperative that my brain and technology start working in concert with each another – and the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 has been my personal Mom’s Lifesavers.
Let me tell you why I love it.
- The tablet is super small. The 10.1″ size makes it perfect to carry around in my pocketbook!
- Battery life is great. The battery has a 15-18 hour charge – a little less if you are heavy movie watching and web surfing.
- The tablet is black. I know, I’m so tired of the silver case that I’ve seen on other tablets.
- It has Windows 8.1. I’m able to use this tablet just like my laptop — confession time, I’m a PC owner and happy about it! It’s a mini version of my clunky laptop.
- I can hang it on a wall. YUP, not kidding. The tablet can hang up on a wall. It’s SO cool.
- Bluetooth keyboard is cool. I can hunt and peck with the onscreen keyboard, or attach (via magnet) the keyboard. So it looks like a mini laptop and boy do I get compliments…it’s adorable!
- My work hero. My business partner is way more technically savvy than I am and this tablet makes me look and work like a ROCKSTAR – if I can get this tablet to produce awesome work and social results, you can too!

Now to the Fun Part – Design we love!
1. The Design
It’s thin, sleek, and offers built in functionality in a variety of modes! The table has a stand, tilt, hold modes and hanging mode (super cool to have in the kitchen while you cook – it’s so cool!).
Stand mode has been great for watching videos, tilt mode for browsing, and playing games. The tablet is bigger than others, but I loved how solid it felt in my hands to read a book. Really nice! The left side of the tablet has a round power button, microUSB port and volume keys. On the right side you have the headphone location and HDMI port. On the bottom you’ll find the two front facing stereo speakers, and the back under the kickstand is the microSD card slot. The Bluetooth keyboard which also is used as the cover looks is very helpful.
2. Display
We love the look of the display! The IPS screen is nice at any angle. There is glare when used in bright light situations. But this is common in most tablets – so it’s not a deal breaker for us.
3. Software
The Lenovo Windows YOGA Tablet 2 runs Windows 8.1 with Bing. We really like that! With the Windows installation they give you a free year of Office 365 Personal and 1TB of cloud storage. WOW!
4. Speakers
The speakers are great! We can listen to movies and music – better than most tables like this one. There is a rich sound with depth. Nice feature.
5. Cameras
Both a front- and back-facing camera are included. The 8MP back camera is fine for easy & quick photos. The included camera app also has a panoramic mode. The front camera is great for Hangout video chats.
6. Battery Life
The 9600mAh battery is super. The battery can charge for a nice long time of 10 hours! The Bluetooth keyboard has less charge and needs to be recharged after 4-5 hours of use. But that’s not a game-changer.
