Looking for a Fun and Easy St. Patrick’s Day Craft?

You can make this lacing craft with just a few supplies. We love to make these for different seasons and our daughter is old enough now to punch the holes herself. Our youngest uses these in the car as a ‘busy’ activity – I love that there is little to no mess and that the craft costs so little to make. Pick up some seasonal shaped paper plates or cardboard shapes after a holiday and have them on hand for this super easy craft.

Supplies

  • Seasonal St. Patrick’s Day Cardboard Cutouts – we found ours at a discount store $.99 for a pack of 5
  • Hole Punch – nothing fancy just your standard office one
  • Shoe Laces – we picked up an 8 pack of shoe laces at the Dollar Tree

TIP- Shoelaces are perfect for this craft because the aglet (yes, aglet – the small plastic end of a shoelace) acts as a built in needle and keeps the fibers from unraveling

Steps

  • Using the hole punch, create holes around the perimeter of the cutout
  • Space holes accordingly
  • Tie a knot at the end of the shoelace and start lacing

TIP – Space the holes a little further apart for the younger crafters and add more holes for the older lacers

Our St. Patrick’s Day Lacing Craft was a hit with the neighborhood kids – next week we are going to make my Nana’s Irish Soda Bread recipe
