I posted this photo on Instagram and Facebook yesterday and it sort of went VIRAL.
I decided to share my little treasure with you! I know we aren’t a gardening blog, but my garden keeps my husband and I SANE – it’s our LIFESAVER and has kept our marriage very special for nearly 15 years. Our lives sort of revolve in our out door ‘living room’. We tend to our plants like little family members!
I have to give MUCH of the credit for this little blossom to my hubby. We purchased a STICK about three years ago (Hubby CORRECTION – Honey, it was a TWIG about 5 years ago! ANYHOO!) from Syringa Gardens in West Newbury, MA.
The Sensation Lilac (ahem, TWIG when purchased) wasn’t cheap and my hubby just knew this WAS IT! He planted it a couple times over the years, to find the right spot. Well, evidently, he chose well last year!
The owner told us that if we were patient, we would have one of the most beautiful species he sells, and BOY was he RIGHT. This was the year for this little blossom to show her beautiful self. Can you tell I’m giddy? I’m freaking out over here!! HAHA!
Enjoy our little Lilac variety. We hope to find out the name today when we visit the farm – UPDATE – it’s call Sensation!
