Snug Harbor Farm was an accidental discovery.
While heading for a day trip to Kennebunkport, Maine over April vacation the kids and I drove by this farm. Just a few miles from downtown, the mini horses caught my daughter’s eye and suddenly exclaimed, “MOM, pull over….I HAVE to see the mini’s!”
Her insistence made for quite a lovely visit to a farm we may have just driven by!

My husband LOVES gardening and has a true GREEN thumb. A fun day for us is to visit garden centers and farms to seek out new ideas and purchasing new items for our gardens at home. Snug Harbor is about to become a serious favorite of ours!

The farm has AMAZING imported Terra Cotta pots. They are so unusual and I truly have never seen anything like them. Really special pieces all located in funky barns…just walking through them you can just feel the workmanship that went into every single pot. The decorating of Chinese lanterns really made the spaces special…a treat for the eyes.
I hope to get back and purchase a few, it was so overwhelming at the time to select just one, so I had better just come prepared to buy SEVERAL!

The farm specializes in plants for the connoisseur and I could TOTALLY get that! The topiary were just getting started when we toured. I haven’t seen a topiary in a LONG time, it’s not just for the English countryside anymore. I’m hoping to get one for my 15th wedding anniversary, it’s now on my list! There are MANY greenhouses you are invited to tour. Each one had a specialized plant or process going on in them. It was a treat to behold.

Besides all the fabulous plants and pots, you will find some REALLY unique garden statues. LOVE their Buddha ones. Again, the assortment was VERY different and special.
