Summer!

June 25, 2013 By: Christinecomment

Musings From an Ordinary Mom!
Snow Day RantToday was our last day of school! The snow storms in the Northeast wreaked havoc on the school schedule and we had to stay in school 1 additional full week of school. It was harrowing! LOL!

Things I learned:

1. NO academics take place during this time. none. nada.

2. Kids are beyond tired of each other. drama. drama. drama

3. Teachers are at their wits end.  Email communications are now short and sweet!

4. We have NO TUPPERWARE left for school lunches! Where, o where do all those little containers go?!

5. I’ve had the beach on MY mind for over a month now…I can just image what’s going on in my kids’ heads right about now!

6.  An idle mind is a devils playground….the drama, drama, drama!

7.  Summer will come to a quick end late August, so we can get out NEXT summer at a reasonable time! Kids LOVE THIS ONE! not, not AT ALL!

8.  I’m not against school on Saturdays to make up snow days!

9.  Kids have no idea that their glee for a day off, will only cause trauma in the end!

10 – I’m happy to finally NOT make lunches for 2 months.

So…..do you have anything to add?  Post your comment on Facebook! Would love to hear from you!

Oh, before I forget, I had to buy Emblem3 concert tickets last week just to motivate kids to stay in school until the end! THIS whole snow day stuff COSTS in many ways!

Have a GREAT SUMMER!
